Long-time MPRG member Ross Glover ZL1BGB became a Silent Key on the 27th. Ross was a member of the group at ZLD from our early days at the station. His support for the group included management of the Northern QSL bureau. Although ill health forced his retirement he remained a valued member. Ross’s visits to the station were necessarily infrequent, but he maintained contact with members on 2 metres, and he and Iris were able to join us for Christmas lunch over the past few years.

At the November 2008 meeting, chairman Ian Walker ZL1BFB (left) presented a certificate of appreciation to Ross Glover ZL1BGB. Ross’s wife Iris is also pictured.

He had a great sense of humour, and came up with some innovative ideas at times, his curtain track antenna being one of them.

Ross will be missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts and sympathy go out to Iris and David.
