20th Anniversary of Closure of Auckland Radio ZLD

On 29 September 2013, Musick Point Radio Group marked the 20th anniversary of the closure of Auckland Radio ZLD on 30 September 1993.

Former staff of the station were invited to a reunion at Musick Memorial Radio Station, and members of the Group operated a special event station from 10am to midnight local time.

Bob Shimmin brought along a photo album which he is seen showing to Paul Chamberlin. Bob was a ZLD operator from 1956 to 1960 before becoming a radio inspector. Paul was a ZLD technician up until the station's closure and is a member of MPRG.
